SOLOMON BUCHI SLAMS CARTER EFE, SAYS NIGERIANS ARE TURNING PAINFUL REALITIES INTO COMEDY

Media personality has stirred reactions on social media after strongly criticizing skit maker and content creator over his recently viral akara skit.

In a lengthy post shared online, Solomon Buchi described Carter Efe as an “established olodo,” arguing that Nigeria’s social and political challenges persist because many young people who should be demanding accountability from leaders are instead turning serious national issues into comedy content.

According to him, incidents that should provoke outrage and inspire citizens to hold the government accountable are now being used to create skits for views and financial gain.

He lamented that even tragic events are quickly converted into entertainment, claiming that the culture of making jokes out of painful realities has weakened the willingness of Nigerians to confront the country’s problems.

Solomon Buchi acknowledged that Nigerians are known for remaining cheerful despite hardship, but questioned whether the constant laughter has become a way of avoiding difficult conversations and responsibilities.

He further argued that the absence of a clear breaking point allows politicians to continue governing without fear of public accountability, suggesting that leaders may even view Nigerians as people who will always respond to hardship with jokes instead of action.

His comments have since sparked mixed reactions online. While some social media users agreed with his views, saying Nigerians often use humour as an escape from harsh realities, others defended content creators, arguing that comedy helps people cope with difficult situations and should not be blamed for the country’s challenges.
