MEN ARE HEARTLESS, HE MARRIED MY BEST FRIEND DESPITE DATING ME FOR 10 YEARS – SAD LADY SHARES

I gave him ten years of my life. Ten years. When we started dating, I genuinely believed we were going to end up together. We were young, broke, ambitious, and full of dreams. I stayed when he had nothing. I encouraged him when things were difficult. I defended him when my friends told me I was wasting my time.

I loved that man with everything in me.Whenever I asked him about marriage, he would tell me to be patient. “I’m not ready yet,” he would say. “I want to get my life together first.”

And because I loved him, I waited.I watched him build his career. I watched him buy his first car. I watched his life improve, and I kept telling myself that soon, it would be our turn.

Then everything changed. My best friend started spending more time around us. I never suspected anything because I trusted both of them. She knew everything about my relationship. She knew how much I loved him. She knew about every fight, every apology, every dream we had together.I never imagined she would become the reason those dreams died.

One day, I found out they were dating. At first, I refused to believe it. I thought someone was joking. But the truth was worse than anything I could have imagined. The man I had spent ten years waiting for had decided he was suddenly ready for marriage. Just not with me. A few months later, they got married. My best friend wore a wedding dress. The man who kept telling me he wasn’t ready became her husband. And I was left trying to understand what I had done wrong.

The worst part is that neither of them seemed to understand the damage they caused me. They said love happens and people cannot control who they fall in love with.

But how do you fall in love with your girlfriend’s best friend after spending ten years with her? Today, I am learning to accept that sometimes, loyalty means nothing to the people you are loyal to. I don’t know if all men are heartless, but the man I loved for ten years definitely broke something inside me that I may never completely repair.
