A Nigerian woman, who pleaded to remain anonymous, has recounted the emotional shock of allegedly discovering her father in an intimate situation with their housekeeper, saying the experience changed the way she viewed her family.

“I still find it difficult to believe what happened because I never expected to witness something like that involving my father and someone who worked in our home. It happened when I entered part of the house unexpectedly. I wasn’t looking for anything unusual, and I certainly wasn’t prepared for what I discovered.

I saw my father with our housekeeper in a situation that immediately made me realize that their relationship was not simply professional. I was completely shocked. I didn’t know what to say or how to react, so I left the area and spent a long time trying to understand what I had just witnessed. My first thoughts were about my mother and what the discovery could mean for our family. Since then, I have found it difficult to behave normally around my father because every time I see him, I remember what happened.

The situation has also made things extremely uncomfortable at home. I feel caught between what I witnessed and the consequences that could follow if the matter becomes known to everyone. I never imagined that something like this could happen in my family. I am still emotionally affected by the discovery, and I honestly don’t know what the right thing to do is. For now, I am trying to process everything calmly before making any decision that could permanently change my family.”
