I trust my husband completely. Let me make that clear before anybody starts calling me controlling. I am not controlling my husband.

I am simply prepared. There is a difference. My husband knows that I have his phone password, ATM PIN, email password and even his blood group saved on my phone.

Some people think this is excessive. I think they are the ones who don’t understand marriage. What if there is an emergency?

What if something happens and somebody needs his information?

What if he forgets his own password? Am I supposed to stand there and say, “Unfortunately, my husband believes in privacy” Please. We are married.

If he sneezes, I should at least know what direction the sneeze came from. The funniest part is that my husband sometimes jokes that I know too much about him.

I always tell him, “That’s what love is.” Recently, he changed his phone password. I noticed immediately. I didn’t ask him why.

I just looked at him and said, “Interesting.”He laughed and gave me the new password. That was when I knew our marriage was still strong.

My sister once told me that she doesn’t even know her husband’s phone password. I asked her, “What happens if there is an emergency?”

She said, “I will call him.” I told her, “And if the emergency is the reason you are calling him?”

She became quiet. Exactly. I am not suspicious of my husband. I simply believe in having all the necessary information before life decides to surprise you. Some women keep their husband’s favourite food in the kitchen. I keep his PIN. Some women know their husband’s shoe size. I know his blood group.

Some women know their husband’s best friend’s name. I know his email recovery details. That is not lack of trust.

That is premium-level preparedness.

And honestly, if my husband has nothing to hide, why should he be afraid of the woman who already knows where everything is? I trust him completely.

That’s why I have all his passwords. You people should learn from me.
