I DON’T STALK MY EX. I JUST LIKE TO KNOW HOW HIS LIFE IS PROGRESSING WITHOUT ME – SINGLE LADY CONFESSES

A single lady has explained why she occasionally checks on her ex-boyfriend despite insisting that she has completely moved on from their relationship. According to her, she does not consider what she does as stalking because she is not trying to contact him or interfere with his life. She simply wants to know how he is doing and whether life has been kind to him since they went their separate ways.

The lady, who asked not to be identified, said their relationship lasted for almost three years before it ended following several disagreements and growing differences between them. Although the breakup was painful at the time, she eventually accepted that the relationship had run its course. She said they stopped communicating regularly, and after some time, they became almost complete strangers.

However, she admitted that she still occasionally searches for his social media pages. Sometimes, she checks his Instagram stories, looks through pictures posted by his friends or even searches his name to see whether anything new comes up. She said she does not necessarily feel sad when she sees him, but there is always a strange curiosity about the person who once played such an important role in her life.

“I don’t stalk him,” she explained. “I just like to know how his life is progressing without me. We spent years together, so it would be strange to suddenly stop caring completely. I don’t message him, I don’t call him and I don’t ask people about him. I just look sometimes.”

She admitted that things became slightly complicated when she discovered that her ex had started dating someone else. At first, she tried to convince herself that she did not care, but seeing pictures of the new woman made her feel unexpectedly uncomfortable. She said she spent several days wondering whether he treated his new partner better than he treated her when they were together.

According to her, the experience also made her realise that checking on her ex was sometimes more about herself than him. Whenever she saw him doing well, she found herself wondering whether she had made the right decision by leaving. On other days, seeing him struggle reminded her of the reasons the relationship had ended in the first place.

Her friends have repeatedly advised her to stop checking his pages and focus completely on her own life. Some of them believe that constantly looking into an ex’s life can prevent a person from genuinely moving forward. She, however, insists that she is not waiting for him to return and has no intention of interfering with his current relationship.

“I don’t want him back,” she said. “If he is happy, good for him. If he is struggling, I hope things get better for him. I just think when someone has been such a big part of your life, it is difficult to become completely indifferent overnight.”

Despite her explanation, the lady admitted that she may eventually have to stop checking on him altogether if she wants to fully close that chapter of her life. For now, she says she is single, focused on herself and open to meeting someone new, even though a small part of her still wonders what the life of the man she once loved looks like without her in it.
