IF THERE IS NO S*X IN HEAVEN PLS LET ME GO TO HELL IN PEACE — VIRGIN MAN SHARES

I am a virgin and sometimes I wonder whether God understands how difficult it is to be a young man in this generation.

I grew up in a very religious home. My parents taught me that sex before marriage was a sin, and I took that seriously. I have never slept with anyone, not because I have never had opportunities, but because I have always been afraid of disappointing God.

For years, I thought saving myself for marriage would be easy.

I was wrong. The older I get, the harder it becomes. Almost everyone around me seems to be dating, getting married or talking about their experiences. Sometimes my friends laugh when they discover that I am still a virgin. They tell me I am wasting my youth and that I should at least experience what everybody is talking about.

I always laugh with them, but deep down, it bothers me. Recently, I was having a conversation with my friends about heaven and relationships. Someone said there would be no sex in heaven because there would be no marriage as we know it here.

Everybody started laughing when I said, “Then what exactly am I suffering for?” I was joking, but honestly, part of me was serious.

Imagine spending your entire youth avoiding something because you believe God wants you to wait until marriage, only to discover that the next life has no room for it. Sometimes I get frustrated because I am human. I have feelings, desires and curiosity like everybody else. There are nights when I struggle with temptation and have to remind myself why I made this decision in the first place.

But I wish people would stop acting as if being a virgin automatically means I don’t have desires. I do. I simply decided that I don’t want those desires to control my decisions. My biggest fear is that I will eventually become tired of waiting.

I want to get married someday and experience intimacy with my wife without carrying guilt or regret.

Until then, I am trying to remain faithful to the decision I made.

But honestly, whoever said waiting was easy definitely did not explain this part.
