NIGERIAN-CANADIAN SINGLE FATHER OF THREE APPEALS FOR HELP TO RELOCATE FAMILY TO NIGERIA AMID FINANCIAL HARDSHIP
A Nigerian-Canadian single father raising three children has made an emotional appeal for public support as he battles prolonged financial hardship in Canada.
In a heartfelt statement shared online, the father explained that he is currently unable to provide for his family’s basic needs due to his financial situation.
According to him, his Canada Child Benefit has not yet been released, while his Ontario Works assistance, which was approximately $377 per month, has come to an end. As a result, he said he has been surviving on loans and the kindness of others just to put food on the table for his children.
He also revealed that disruptions to his children’s schooling have made it difficult for him to actively seek and maintain employment.
Despite the challenges, the father said he has remained committed to finding work, noting that he has been applying for jobs since 2024. He added that he has recently started receiving positive responses to some of his applications, giving him hope that stable employment may soon come.
However, he believes the best path forward for his family is to return to Nigeria, where he says he has an established support network that would help him rebuild his life.
Appealing to members of the public, he asked for financial assistance to help feed his children and cover the cost of relocating his family to Nigeria. He added that those who are unable to donate could support his cause by sharing his appeal with others.
His story has since attracted attention online, with many expressing sympathy for his situation and wishing him and his children a fresh start.
