YOU CANNOT BE A NORMAL PERSON IF YOU WANT TO DATE A CELEBRITY” – WHITEMONEY SHARES HIS THOUGHTS ON RELATIONSHIPS WITH PUBLIC FIGURES
Reality TV star and entertainer Whitemoney has stirred conversations online after sharing his opinion on what it takes to date or marry a celebrity, saying it requires a level of emotional maturity that goes beyond what many people are used to.
Speaking during a recent conversation, the former Big Brother Naija winner advised people who dream of being in relationships with public figures to understand that fame comes with unique challenges that require a different mindset.
According to Whitemoney, anyone hoping to date a celebrity must be mentally and emotionally prepared for the realities that come with being in the public eye.
“So if you ever get to a point in your life as an individual, whether you’re a man or a woman, and you’d be like, ‘Hmm, I would love to date this celebrity. I want to marry a celebrity. I want to have something to do with a celebrity,’ know this and know peace: you cannot be normal. Celebrities are not created for normal people,” he said.
He explained that relationships involving influential personalities are often very different from regular relationships because of the constant attention, public scrutiny, demanding schedules, and social media pressure that celebrities experience.
According to him, anyone who chooses to be with a celebrity must develop emotional resilience and avoid thinking like an average person.
“See, when you’re dating an influential person or you’re getting married to an influential person, whether it’s in movies, music, or whatever sphere this person got the popularity from, including social media presence, you cannot be thinking like a regular person. Your thoughts and your emotions can’t be that of a regular person. You have to be ready. You have to prepare if you ever want to date a celebrity, whether it’s a male or a female,” he added.
His comments have since generated mixed reactions on social media. While some people agreed that relationships with celebrities often come with extraordinary pressures and require patience, trust, and emotional intelligence, others argued that celebrities are ordinary people and should not be viewed as fundamentally different from everyone else.
The discussion has reignited debates about the realities of dating public figures, with many sharing personal opinions on whether fame makes relationships more difficult to navigate.
Do you agree with Whitemoney? Can an ordinary person successfully date or marry a celebrity, or does it truly require a different mindset? Share your thoughts in the comments.
