Content creator and relationship commentator Emmanuel Obruste, popularly known as GehGeh, has revealed that the wedding ceremony which recently generated widespread reactions online was not real but a carefully planned publicity stunt.

Speaking about the event, GehGeh explained that the ceremony was organised as a promotional campaign and was intended to gauge the public’s reaction.

According to him, the stunt was also meant to address what he described as widespread misconceptions about the teachings of his GehGeh Wisdom and Knowledge University.

He said many people believed he had completely discouraged marriage, adding that the viral wedding led to questions about whether he had abandoned his own philosophy.

Clarifying his stance, GehGeh insisted that he has never been against marriage. Instead, he claimed his message has always been that people should avoid marriage unless they are prepared for it, and if they choose to marry, they should consider polygamy.

According to the content creator, he believes polygamy protects men from emotional manipulation and heartbreak because, in his view, no single woman would have complete emotional control over a man with multiple wives.

He further argued that this idea aligns with practices he says were common among past generations and forms part of the principles he teaches.

His comments have since sparked fresh debate online, with some social media users describing the staged wedding as a clever publicity strategy, while others criticized both the stunt and his views on relationships and marriage.
