A Nigerian man has shared a shocking experience that left many social media users stunned after he claimed he was nearly attacked for washing a dirty cup while visiting a friend.

According to the man, the incident happened when he stopped by his friend’s house after work. During the visit, his friend served him food, and the two spent some time chatting.

After they were done eating, his friend offered to take the plate to the kitchen, but he politely declined, choosing to return it himself. On getting to the kitchen, he noticed that only his plate and a dirty cup were there. Wanting to be helpful, he decided to wash both items.

Unknown to him, his friend’s mother had stepped out but returned while he was rinsing the cup.

He alleged that the woman immediately became furious, grabbed a large pestle, and attempted to hit him. Fortunately, he dodged the attack and rushed out of the kitchen.

The man said the woman continued shouting at her son, demanding to know why he allowed a visitor to wash her cup. Confused by the outburst, he quickly left the house.

Curious about what had happened, he later asked his friend why his mother reacted that way.

According to his friend, his mother does not allow anyone to wash that particular cup—not even her own son—because she is afraid it could get broken.
