KIDNAP SURVIVOR RECOUNTS HORRIFIC ORDEAL IN CAPTIVITY, REVEALS HOW MOTHER WAS KILLED

A kidnapping survivor has shared a heartbreaking account of his time in captivity, detailing how he, his mother, and several others were subjected to weeks of suffering in the hands of their abductors.

According to the survivor, the ordeal began on May 9 when he, his mother, and his assistant were abducted in the evening and taken deep into the bush.

He recalled that they were forced to trek throughout the night, moving from one location to another. During the day, the kidnappers allowed them to rest briefly before resuming the long journeys at night.

As the days passed, more victims were added to the group. What started as one family eventually grew into four families after several other abductees were brought into the camp.

The kidnappers continually moved them from place to place within the forest while negotiating ransom payments with their families.

The survivor said the abductors initially demanded ₦200 million and repeatedly tortured and assaulted captives whenever their families failed to meet their demands or offered lower amounts.

The situation took a tragic turn on May 15.

According to him, the kidnappers approached his mother and another female captive during the day and asked for their ages. His mother reportedly told them she was 66 years old, while the other woman said she was 45.

At first, he believed the questions were being asked out of sympathy because of their ages. However, he later discovered the kidnappers had a far more sinister intention.

That evening, the abductors separated his mother, the other woman, and a 15-year-old boy from the rest of the captives. Although they were moved some distance away, the remaining victims could still see them.

Before carrying out the attack, the kidnappers reportedly made another round of ransom calls to the families. The survivor said his family informed them they had managed to raise ₦7.5 million, while another family could only provide ₦1.5 million.

Angered by the amount offered, the kidnappers allegedly began debating whether to kill the captives.

Moments later, gunshots rang out.

The survivor said the attackers shot through the other woman and into his mother. The captives were forced to witness the horrifying scene unfold before their eyes.

The 15-year-old boy was later brought back with blood stains on his body and informed them that the women had died.

However, the survivor said he could still hear his mother’s voice nearby as she prayed. After some time, her voice became weaker before eventually falling silent.

Following the killings, the abductors moved the remaining captives to another location under a Banga tree. The survivor alleged that the teenage boy was also later killed there.

The captives spent another night in the area before being moved once again through several difficult routes, including a borrow pit and across a major road.

After days in captivity, the survivor and the remaining victims were eventually released after his family paid an ₦11 million ransom.

He further revealed that the kidnappers also demanded several items before granting their freedom, including bags of rice, turkey, soft drinks, power banks, school bags, and other supplies.
