I DON’T HAVE TATTOOS BECAUSE IF MY MUSIC CAREER DOESN’T WORK OUT, I’LL GO BACK TO OFFICE WORK -SHODAY SHARES
Nigerian singer Shoday has opened up about his career journey, revealing that he always had a backup plan in case music did not work out.
Speaking during an interview, the singer disclosed that he studied Building Technology and would have returned to office work if his music career had failed to take off.
“I studied Building Technology in school, and I’m here doing music,” he said.
Shoday also pointed to his lack of tattoos as an example of how careful he has always been about keeping his options open.
“Look at my body, do you see any tattoo? No. It’s because I’m skeptical. If music did not work out like this, I’m back in the office,” he stated.
The singer explained that his longevity and consistency in the music industry have strengthened his belief that he is destined to pursue music.
“I used to tell people, if God did not want me to go far, I wouldn’t get to this point that I’m presently. The fact that I’m here and I’ve done it consistently — not one, not two, not three, not five songs. I’m still here. That means God really wants me to do this,” he said.
Shoday further stressed the importance of adaptability, noting that life does not always go according to plan and that everyone should have an alternative path.
“One thing I’ve learned so far in life is that it will not always be sweet. Sometimes it won’t go as planned. Just know how to always have Plan B. Always know when to quickly flip the script and do something new,” he said.
According to the singer, his upbringing played a major role in shaping that mindset.
“If you come from where I came from, you always have Plan B. That’s how my mom and my family trained me,” he added.
