Actress Lizzy Gold Speaks on Money, Respect, and Marriage

Nollywood actress Lizzy Gold has stirred conversation with her candid views on relationships and financial balance between partners. Speaking during a recent movie set discussion, she emphasized that a man’s financial strength plays a major role in how much respect he receives in marriage.

According to her, “As a man, if you want to earn respect from a woman, marry someone you’re richer than. If you marry someone richer than you, you’re on your own. She will never respect you.”

Lizzy Gold also shared her personal preference, stating that she would only marry a man who is far wealthier than she is. She explained that even if a woman initially respects a man who earns less, over time that respect fades, leaving the man unable to “control her again.”

She concluded her advice by urging people to be realistic when choosing partners, stressing that financial compatibility matters: “Every man should also have a spec. Your spec should be according to your pocket. You can’t be earning 300 thousand and going for a woman that is earning 500 thousand.”
