From being Unknown to becoming the First Female CEO of Zenith Bank – Leadership journey of Adaora Umeoji.

Zenith Bank has announced that Dr. Adaora Umeoji will become their new CEO on June 1st, 2024.

Adaora is going to be replacing Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu, and will be the first woman to hold this position since the bank started in May 1990.

Adaora has worked in the banking sector for nearly 30 years, mainly with Zenith Bank and so she has the skills needed to outperform in any banking sector.

Since October 28, 2016, she’s been the Deputy Managing Director of Zenith Bank and so she knows how Zenith bank operates.

Her long time with the bank has given her the skills and understanding to help Zenith Bank grow and come up with new ideas.

Adaora is always eager to learn and has studied a lot.

She has a Sociology degree from the University of Jos, an Accounting and Law degree with top honors from Baze University in Abuja, and has earned higher degrees in UK and USA.

Adaora has also attended special programs at top schools like Harvard, Columbia, MIT Sloan, and Wharton.

Adaora is highly respected in her field and has connections with respected organizations like the Chartered Banker Institute of Bankers in Nigeria, and the UK.

She has also received awards from the Nigerian government and the United Nations for her expertise in banking.

Outside of her work achievements, Adaora Umeoji is known for her charitable work.

She started the Pink Breathe Cancer Foundation and the Adorable Foundation to help cancer patients and communities in need in Nigeria.

She also received a Humanitarian Service Icon Award in 2023 for her humanitarian efforts.

As she takes on this new role as the CEO of Zenith Bank, Dr. Adaora Umeoji aims to lead Zenith Bank to greater heights.

She’s also set to make her mark as a standout leader in the banking world.
