DADDY FREEZE REACTS TO CALLS TO BOYCOTT TYLA’S LAGOS CONCERT OVER XENOPHOBIA CONCERNS

Media personality Daddy Freeze has weighed in on the growing calls for South African singer Tyla to be boycotted after Lagos was announced as one of the stops on her upcoming world tour.

Reacting to the backlash, Daddy Freeze said he understands why some Nigerians still feel hurt over the xenophobic attacks that have targeted Nigerians in South Africa over the years. However, he questioned whether directing that anger at Tyla is fair.

According to him, many Nigerians calling for a boycott continue to use South African-owned products and services in their daily lives.

He pointed out that several people criticizing Tyla still use MTN, watch DSTV, and patronize other South African businesses, arguing that there is a level of inconsistency in demanding that only the singer be boycotted.

Daddy Freeze also noted that thousands of Nigerians still live and work in South Africa despite the history of xenophobic incidents, suggesting that the relationship between both countries is more complex than it appears.

While acknowledging the pain caused by xenophobic attacks, he called for a more balanced approach, urging people to promote peace instead of directing all the blame at one individual.

His comments have since sparked mixed reactions online. While some agreed with his position, saying the issue should not be personalized, others insisted that Nigerians have every right to protest Tyla’s visit as a symbolic stand against xenophobia.
