I SPENT ₦80,000 ON A SUIT FOR MY FRIEND’S WEDDING, ONLY TO BE REPLACED BY HIS UK-BASED FRIENDS A DAY BEFORE THE CEREMONY

A Nigerian man has shared a heartbreaking experience after he was allegedly removed from his friend’s wedding train just one day before the ceremony despite being actively involved in the wedding preparations for several months.

According to the man, he and the groom had been close friends, and he dedicated a significant amount of his time and resources to ensuring the wedding plans went smoothly.

He revealed that he accompanied the groom to markets to purchase items needed for the wedding, helped secure the services of an MC and a DJ, and assisted with several other arrangements leading up to the big day.

As part of his role as a groomsman, he said he spent ₦80,000 to sew a suit specifically for the occasion because he valued their friendship and wanted to support him.

However, things took an unexpected turn just a day before the wedding when the groom reportedly called him with shocking news.

According to him, the groom informed him that he would no longer be part of the groomsmen. Instead, he was asked to take responsibility for overseeing the drinks during the event.

The man said he was stunned by the decision and suspected that he was replaced by some of the groom’s friends who had recently returned from the United Kingdom.

Feeling hurt and disappointed, he chose not to argue or question the decision. Rather than attend the wedding under those circumstances, he ended the call and decided to stay away from the event entirely.

His story has since sparked reactions online, with many social media users debating whether the groom’s action was justified or a betrayal of friendship.
