ALEX EKUBO’S SERVICE OF SONGS: THAT NIGHT WAS NEVER ABOUT YOU – MOFE DUNCAN BLASTS DADDY FREEZE

Nollywood actor and media personality Mofe Duncan has reacted strongly to comments made by media personality Daddy Freeze regarding the Service of Songs held in honour of Alexx Ekubo’s late sister, Alexx.

Taking to social media, Mofe Duncan expressed his disappointment, stating that Daddy Freeze completely missed the purpose of the event and made the occasion about himself instead of the woman whose life was being celebrated.

According to Mofe Duncan, the gathering was never intended to be a funeral service but rather a night of tributes, worship, and songs dedicated to celebrating Alexx’s life and legacy.

He stressed that hymns were indeed sung during the event and questioned whether Daddy Freeze arrived late, noting that many attendees were deeply moved during the rendition of Blessed Assurance.

Mofe further explained that members of Alexx’s inner circle repeatedly emphasized throughout the evening that she loved worship music, making the worship-centered atmosphere exactly what she would have wanted.

Addressing Daddy Freeze’s criticism of the event, Mofe said:

“It was not a funeral, it was a night of tributes and a service of songs. The night was about Alexx, not about you.”

The actor also criticized Daddy Freeze’s choice of outfit for the occasion, pointing out that while attendees were dressed in black and white to honour Alexx’s life, Daddy Freeze appeared in a different outfit and later took to social media to complain about the programme.

Mofe argued that if Daddy Freeze truly disagreed with the format of the event, he could have quietly left without making public remarks that shifted attention away from the deceased.

He concluded by expressing hope that his remarks would help Daddy Freeze understand why many people felt offended by his comments, insisting that the night belonged solely to Alexx and the memories she left behind.
