YOU CAN’T SAY THE PRESIDENT AND THE VICE-PRESIDENT ARE NOT WORKING – YINKA ALASEYORI URGES NIGERIANS TO PRAY MORE OVER INSECURITY
Gospel singer Yinka Alaseyori has called on Nigerians to intensify prayers in response to the growing insecurity across the country, particularly the abduction of schoolchildren in Oyo State.
Speaking on the incident, Alaseyori dismissed claims that prayers are ineffective, insisting that spiritual intervention remains vital. “So many people are saying the prayer they are praying is not working, but believe me, prayers are working. Prayers are working,” she affirmed.
She cautioned citizens against allowing political interests to shape their reactions to kidnappings, stressing that everyone, from the President to ordinary citizens, needs prayers. Defending the government’s efforts, she added: “You can’t say that the President or the Vice President are not doing anything, but the best we do.”
Alaseyori also highlighted the role of security operatives, noting that they may be making efforts behind the scenes and require spiritual support to succeed. She explained: “Even the security personnel, they might be close to where those children are to rescue them and then get jazzed not to see them. That’s the place of prayer.”
Describing the abducted victims as fathers, mothers, and children, she urged Nigerians not to be manipulated for political purposes but to focus on praying for the victims and the nation. She further emphasized that soldiers and other security personnel also face significant risks during rescue operations and deserve prayers.
Concluding, Alaseyori stressed that responsibility for national challenges should not be placed on one individual alone, reminding citizens that everyone has a role to play in supporting the country.
