BEING A SUGAR BABY CAN MAKE YOU A LOT OF MONEY BUT IT CAN NEVER MAKE YOU WEALTHY — MEDIA PERSONALITY RAYE
Media personality Raye has sparked conversation on financial independence and long-term security as she contrasted a lifestyle funded by others with one built through personal effort and ownership.
According to her, “Just being a sugar baby can make you a lot of money, but it’s almost never going to make you wealthy.”
Explaining further, she noted that many of the luxuries associated with such a lifestyle are still not true wealth.
“Some girls are getting their rent paid, vacations, designer bags, soft life, and yes, all of that is money, but that is not wealth. That is access to someone else’s money.”
She warned that dependency on another person’s support comes with uncertainty.
“And the problem with access is the day the person who is funding your life gets tired and he finds someone new, or the day he just decides that he’s done, your entire life is going to disappear overnight.”
Raye then contrasted this with building personal income through work or business.
“Now, compare that with the girl who is building a career or a business. That career or business might not give her designer bags immediately, but over time, she’s building something that belongs to her and can continue to grow.”
She stressed that true wealth comes from ownership, consistency, and creating sustainable sources of income rather than relying on temporary access to another person’s resources.
