Nigerian actor and former BBNaija star, Saga Adeolu, has opened up about the reality behind romantic scenes in the film industry, revealing that many actors do not actually enjoy kissing scenes as much as viewers might think.
Speaking during a recent episode of the Nolly Icons Podcast, the Big Brother Naija alum shared a candid perspective on what really happens behind the scenes in Nollywood productions.
According to him, the common belief that actors take pleasure in intimate moments on screen is far from the truth. He described the experience as awkward and uncomfortable, noting that it often feels unnatural rather than enjoyable.
“It is not easy to kiss another actor. It is weird. I have not really had any good onscreen kisses. It is strange having someone invade your mouth with saliva,” he said.
Saga further explained that most actors approach such scenes strictly as part of their professional responsibilities, focusing more on delivering the story than deriving any personal satisfaction.
“It is not something we enjoy. People think we enjoy it, but we don’t. Most times, we are just doing it for the story,” he added.
Highlighting the demanding nature of the job, he also recalled an experience on set where he had to kiss multiple actresses in a single day, something he admitted he would avoid if given the choice.“If I had my way, I would not kiss anyone in a film. There was a day I kissed four different girls on set,” he revealed.
His comments have since sparked conversations online, with many fans expressing surprise at the behind-the-scenes reality of romantic scenes in films.
