I FOUND OUT I WAS AN ADOPTED DAUGHTER ON MY WEDDING DAY – LADY SHARES SHOCKING STORY

I was standing at the altar, smiling at everyone and trying not to cry.

It was my wedding day.

After months of planning, I was finally getting married to the man I loved. My parents were sitting in the front row, looking so proud of me.

I had always considered myself a very lucky daughter.

My parents had raised me with love, supported my dreams and done everything they could to give me a good life.

Or at least, that was what I believed.

Everything was going perfectly until two strangers walked into the wedding venue.

At first, I didn’t pay attention to them.

Then I noticed my mother suddenly stood up.

Her face changed completely.

My father also looked shocked.

The two strangers walked straight towards the altar.

Everyone started wondering who they were.

Then the woman started crying.

She looked at me and said,

“My daughter.”

I thought she was confused.

I looked at my parents, expecting them to explain what was happening.

But they couldn’t even look at me.

That was when I knew something was terribly wrong.

The woman came closer and told me that she was my biological mother.

I laughed because I honestly thought it was some kind of misunderstanding.

I told her she had the wrong person.

But then she mentioned details about my birth that nobody outside my family could possibly know.

She told me the name I was given at birth.

She told me the hospital where I was born.

She even showed me old photographs of herself carrying me as a baby.

I couldn’t move.

I looked at my mother.

“Is this true?”

She started crying.

And that was when my entire world changed.

She finally admitted that I had been adopted.

The people I had called Mum and Dad for my entire life were not my biological parents.

They had adopted me when I was a baby.

And somehow, they had kept it from me for all those years.

But the question that kept running through my mind was:

Why did my real parents show up at my wedding?

My biological mother explained that she had spent years trying to find me.

She said she had never stopped thinking about me and eventually discovered where I was after years of searching.

She knew I was getting married and decided she couldn’t let the biggest day of my life pass without seeing me.

I was overwhelmed.

I didn’t know whether to hug her, cry, scream or walk away.

I looked at my adoptive parents and felt betrayed.

They had been my parents all my life.

They were the people who raised me, celebrated my birthdays, paid my school fees and held me whenever I was sick.

But they had also kept the truth about my identity from me.

My wedding had suddenly turned into a family revelation I never asked for.

Everyone at the venue was watching.

My husband-to-be was standing beside me, completely confused.

I could barely hear what anyone was saying.

I had spent that morning worrying about my makeup, my dress and whether everything would go according to plan.

I never imagined I would spend my wedding day discovering that the people I thought were my biological parents weren’t.

Eventually, I hugged the woman who had just introduced herself as my mother.

I didn’t know what our relationship would look like after that day.

I didn’t even know what to call her.

But I knew one thing.

I had spent my entire life believing I knew my story.

On my wedding day, I discovered that there was an entire chapter of my life that had been hidden from me.

And somehow, my wedding wasn’t just the day I became a wife.

It was also the day I finally discovered where I came from.
