Election Panic as Presidency Begs Media to Avoid Fake Stories

The Presidency via its Media Personnel expressed a concern over the information shared on media.

In his words: “I enjoin the media in Nigeria to make extra effort to report actual and reliable information, and avoid being associated with fake news stories. Journalism is a very important part of our society and our democracy; it should be credible and based on facts at all times.”

This was shared on his twitter page and it attracted several comments on twitter.

A twitter user said: ” Is that the reason you ordered your army to close down Daily Trust Newspeper offices in Borno and Abuja?well your time in #Aso #Rock is due.

Another said: “If you can bare with pres Jonathan why not with Buhari after all we can perform our  Friday prayer( jumma’at) peacefully we can follow any que without any fear of bomb blast “
