I HELPED MY FRIEND WITH SHELTER, SHE CHANGED MY LOCKS AND TOOK MY HOUSE COMPLETELY- LADY SHARES SHOCKING STORY
I have a friend I’ve known for a few years. We were not extremely close at first, but over time we became good friends.
A few months ago, she came to me in tears.
She said she was having serious problems where she was staying and had nowhere else to go. She begged me to allow her stay with me temporarily while she sorted herself out.
I felt bad for her and decided to help.
I live alone, so I told her she could stay for a short while until she figured things out.
At first, everything was fine.
She was calm, respectful, and always appreciative. She even helped around the house, and I didn’t regret my decision.
But after some weeks, things started to change.
She became more comfortable too comfortable.
She started inviting people over without informing me. Sometimes I would come back from work and meet strangers in my living room.
I complained, but she brushed it off like it was nothing.
Then she started acting like she had equal authority in the house.
She would question my decisions, move my things around, and even argue with me over small issues.
I started feeling uncomfortable in my own space.
I told her it was time for her to start making plans to leave, but she didn’t take me seriously.
One day, I came back from work and something shocking happened.
My key didn’t work.
At first, I thought the lock was faulty. But after trying several times, I realized the lock had been changed.
I knocked on the door, and after some minutes, she opened it.
When I asked her what happened, she calmly told me she changed the lock for “security reasons.”
I was shocked.
This is my house.
I was the one who allowed her stay there, and now I couldn’t even enter freely without her opening the door for me.
We argued that day, and things got very heated.
Since then, the situation has only gotten worse.
She now acts like the house belongs to both of us, and anytime I bring up the issue of her leaving, she either avoids the conversation or turns it into an argument.
I feel completely disrespected.
I was only trying to help, but now I feel like I’ve made a big mistake.
Right now, I don’t know what to do.
Part of me wants to force her out immediately, but I’m worried about how messy it might get.
Please I really need advice.
Because I can’t continue living like a stranger in my own house.
