WOMEN ARE WICKED, I WENT TO JAIL FOR MY WIFE, CAME BACK TO FIND HER MARRIED TO ANOTHER MAN- PAINED MAN SHARES

If anybody had told me that love can turn a man into both a fool and a prisoner, I would have laughed. But today, I am that man.

Everything happened on a night that was supposed to be ordinary. My wife and I were driving home from a family event. She was the one driving, because I was tired. We were just talking, laughing small, when one man suddenly ran across the road, and my wife mistakenly hit him, we tried to safe him but he died instantly.

Before she even stepped out of the car, she was already shaking. She kept shouting,I didn’t see him, I didn’t see him, People gathered immediately, shouting, recording, calling police. My wife was crying, almost fainting, and me? I did what I thought a husband should do.

I told her to calm down, cleaned her face, and told her, Enter back seat.

When police arrived, I said I was the one driving, Just like that, I carried a sin that wasn’t mine.

I thought the matter would be small since it was an accident. But the man we hit, they said he was the only son of his mother. The case escalated. Before I knew it, court entered. Before I understood anything, I was sentenced to five years imprisonment.

At first, she visited me for the first one year. She cried. She said thank you. She said she would wait for me. That promise kept me alive.

But little by little, the visits reduced. One month no visit. Two months no message. One full year, nothing.

Still, I kept hope.

When I finally came out, the first thing I did was go home. I was smiling like a child. I imagined her hugging me, cooking my favourite food, thanking me again for saving her life.

But when I reached the house, strangers were living there. I asked neighbours about my wife.

One just looked at me and said,

“Ah, She don marry another man o. Dem even do three month ago, she don relocate go Abuja”

I stood there like stone, I couldn’t cry. I couldn’t talk.,I just kept hearing those words in my head.

This woman, this same woman I went to jail for, didn’t even wait for me to come out. She moved on. She remarried. She started a whole new life while I was rotting in a cell for her mistake.

People say love is sacrifice, but they never tell you that sometimes, the person you sacrifice everything for will leave you with nothing.
