Throwback to a Hero we never celebrated – Boy who saved hundreds of Nigerians

A young school-boy died a heroic death after he prevented a suicide bomber from detonating a bomb in a Mosque where hundreds would have lost their lives. 

According to Alhaji Adam Mustapha a witness who posted the heroic act on his Facebook page, the young Fannami had confronted a female suicide bomber who was trying to force herself into the Mosque in the early hours of Wednesday, January 25, 2017, to detonate a bomb she had strapped to her body.
Fannami who witnessed the suicide bomber’s movement, was said to have swiftly moved to prevent her from going into the Mosque and in the process of struggling with her, she detonated the bomb and they both lost their lives in the process while the throng of worshippers was saved due to the brave act of the young chap.
This is the tribute Alhaji Mustapha, a human rights activist based in the state captured the courage of the late Fannami.
“The management and entire academic and non-academic staff of Darussalam Science and Islamic Academy wishes to announce the death of its student, Yakubu Muhammad Fannami, who courageously sacrificed his life to protect the lives of hundreds Muslim Ummah in a mosque in Kaleri.
The deceased made his encounter with a female suicide bomber who tried to force herself into the mosque and detonate the explosive device in the early hours of Wednesday, January 25, 2017.
This young boy saved hundreds of lives and was never immortalized or celebrated. Such a waste in such a country.
